Heroes Unmasked Enrichment Program - Grades 3-8
Inspired by the Heroes Unmasked podcast, the program brings storytelling, media, literacy, creativity, and character development together through hands-on experiences that encourage students to explore ideas, create original work, collaborate with others, and communicate with confidence.
- Young Heroes — Grades 3–5
Elementary-level enrichment emphasizing creativity, storytelling, communication, collaboration, character development, and discovering the hero within.
- Rising Heroes — Grades 6–8
Middle-school enrichment that builds on those foundations through deeper storytelling, podcasting/media, leadership, critical thinking, collaboration, creative production, and student voice.
The Heroes Unmasked Enrichment Program may include:
Podcasting & Media — Students explore the fundamentals of podcasting, interviewing, speaking, listening, and communicating ideas for an audience.
Storytelling & Script Writing — Students develop original stories, characters, dialogue, and scripts while strengthening literacy, communication, and creative-thinking skills.
Comic Creation & Visual Design — Students transform ideas into visual stories through character development, comic creation, storyboarding, and other creative design experiences.
Character & Leadership Development — Hero-themed activities encourage confidence, responsibility, empathy, teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and positive decision-making.
Collaborative Projects — Students work together to brainstorm, create, problem-solve, present, and reflect while learning the importance of respecting different perspectives and contributions.
Creative Showcase Opportunities — Programs may culminate in student presentations, performances, comics, podcasts, character showcases, or other project-based experiences appropriate to the setting and participating students.
Flexible Program Implementation
The Enrichment Program can be adapted for elementary and middle schools, summer and youth camps, after-school programs, enrichment programs, community organizations, and other settings serving students in Grades 3–8.
Program structure, activities, pacing, and implementation can be adapted based on student age, group size, available instructional time, and organizational goals.
