Young Heroes

Young Heroes introduces learners in grades 3 to 5 to literacy, creativity, technology, character development, and project-based learning through engaging, hero-themed educational experiences. Students discover that heroes come in many forms, including themselves, while building reading, writing, and collaboration skills.

Camp and Enrichment Experience

Heroes Unmasked Enrichment Program

Heroes Unmasked is a camp and enrichment experience inspired by the Heroes Unmasked podcast. Students explore podcasting, storytelling and script writing, comic creation and visual design, teamwork, and character development.

It works as a stand-alone enrichment experience for camps, after-school programs, and community organizations, and it also complements the Young Heroes, Rising Heroes, and Next Generation curriculum collections.

Meet the Founder

Reach them, then teach them.

Dr. Stephanie Barone-Coleman is an educator, author, curriculum creator, and the Founder of Academic League. Her career is built on one core belief: before we can teach students, we must first reach them.

Her work extends beyond the classroom through teacher mentoring, curriculum development, educational programming, and advocacy for meaningful learning experiences. She also co-hosts Heroes Unmasked, a podcast exploring representation, identity, and the stories of Black superheroes.

She is the author of The Heart of Teaching, a book rooted in the lessons, relationships, challenges, and experiences that have shaped her journey as an educator.
